Welcome to Falcons Class 2024-25
We are one of three Year 5 and 6 mixed classes. Our Class Teacher is Mrs Mann and our Teaching Assistant is Miss Bailey. PPA cover will be with Mrs Millard on Friday afternoons.
This class page will be used to keep you up to date with the exciting learning we are doing!
PE
Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday.
Homework
Homework will be set each Friday to be handed in the following Thursday and will consist of work covered in the previous week's learning.

We used an atlas to look at the countries George Bass visited.

In PE we’re are working to improve our sending and receiving skills. After warming up, we played SPOT kick and SPOT hit.

Karl is teaching us Samba this half term. We recapped on music notation and used a tambourin or Ganda to count the beat.

In Science we are learning about living things and their habitats. We are growing geraniums from cuttings.

In PE we recapped sending and receiving the ball then had some games of bench all uninformed bounce passes.

In music, we repeated our warm up adding extra moves and then looked at call and response.

In Geography we were locating countries in Asia

In English we have been improving our editing skills.

We really enjoyed our forest school day- we built dens, made swings, decorated our dens, made forest art and built bug houses.

In Art, we were creating colour palettes based on art work by Femi. We used colour mixing and named the colours we created.

In English, we used freeze framing to capture key moments of the Little Red Rinding Hood story.

In PSHE, we made games linking to rewards and consequences.

In PE, our new topic is sports hall athletics. We practiced using the reversaboard.

InPSHE we looked at how we can work well in teams. We found if we all had a designated role we worked best.

To finish our unit of art we created reduction prints using our class book as inspiration.

We enjoyed shared reading with Moles class today.

We loved having Darren from Roots to school back this week. We made Szechuan chicken.

In PE this half term one of our sessions is cheer dance. We started to learn the different positions and created a drill in groups.

In RE, we have been comparing different versions of the Christmas story.

We built circuits in Science following circuit diagrams.

Year 5/6 had a great day with Sunita from The Indian Experience. We learnt about influences and stereotypes.

As part of our Indian day we made onion bhajis.

In the afternoon we created Rangoli patterns.
